Four months!

Jackson was four months officially on Saturday, March 24th :) Here's the new stats:

13 lbs. 9 oz. (14th percentile - just a little fella!)
24.9 in. (39th percentile)
16.5 in head circumference (79th percentile)

The nurse practitioner wanted to double check the head circumference that the original nurse took because his head was continually jumping up and up (from 7th percentile at birth to 40th to 68th and now to 79th). She asked if big heads ran in the family (I wanted to ask if she meant literally of figuratively, but I restrained myself). After talking to my mom, apparently they do. My head was always off the charts - due to all my brains, of course ;) See any similarities?
Daddy.
I've got Daddy's cheeks, face shape and mouth.

Mommy. Definitely a big head.
I've got Mommy's nose, ears and eyes. Oh, and the big head thing.

Some cool new things that Jackson is doing these days:

1. Reaching out to touch things or to grab them and put them in his mouth.
2. He loves his toys, especially the giraffe and bear animals that Grandma Krebs gave him.
3. He can roll onto his side, but not all the way onto his tummy. I secretly think it's because he hates being on his tummy.
4. He tolerates tummy time more and more now that he can push up on his elbows and check things out.
5. He has discovered his toes! And loves to chew on them, especially during diaper changing time.
6. Music and the outdoors calm him down pretty quickly.
7. Still loving bath time. He can squirm much more now and grabs anything he can reach - our tooth brushes, the faucet, his toes :)
8. He tolerates getting dressed more now too.
9. He's ticklish :) (see laughing video)
10. He can turn himself around in his crib. It's small enough that if he turns on his side and kicks the side of the crib he can spin himself.
11. He tried his first food yesterday! Rice cereal.
12. He does not like to be in his crib when he's awake unless you stay there and make faces at him.
13. He smiles and giggles a lot.
14. He STARES down all of the food we eat, like the pizza we had last night :)
15. He likes to fall asleep on our shoulders (our new favorite), since he used to hate facing us when we held him.
16. He is getting really close to sitting. He will lean forward and then get stuck there or will fall forward onto his tummy.
17. He still gets the hiccups regularly.
18. He has officially graduated into his 3-6 months clothes!
19. He loves to watch his CATS play! (Okay, or any TV, but still).

Loving those toes!

Melts my heart every time.

Our man of many faces :)

So gosh darn cute :)
Ready to eat his first solid food!

Give me some more of that!

Zonked :)

Rock star.

Ever since Jackson started voicing his disdain for his car seat, I have avoided going out anywhere that's too far away or keeping him in his car seat for too long. Needless to say, that makes grocery shopping one of my least favorite weekly errands. Not only are we in a public place for a considerable amount of time, but I usually keep him in his car seat too. Double whammy.

But.

Yesterday, Jackson was an all-star. I strapped him in right after he ate and we headed out for a long string of errands that I hoped to get in. First I went to the bank, because he was being such a quiet little guy in the back seat. Deposit money? Check. Then we headed to buy-low for their amazing deals on meat and produce. He just played with his teething toy and looked at all the colorful produce. Grocery stop #1? Check. Then we headed to the gas station to fill up. On the way he was starting to fuss a little so I figured we would just go back home. Pulled into the gas station and he was asleep. (Gas station is approximately 5 min. from buy-low). Full tank? Check. So, I figure since he is asleep I might as well make my run to Smith's grocery too. Slept like an angel the whole time. Grocery stop #2? Check. Finally we headed back home and he woke up as soon as we pulled in. But the little guy just chilled in his carseat while I: hauled all the groceries inside. Dropped the milk carton. Cleaned up the spilled milk. Put the groceries away. Washed my dirty "I just went shopping for two hours" hands.

Success.

So proud of our little man and how happy he is.

Jack gets vistors from the East!

The day I got back home from Arizona Dad, Leah and Kathy flew in for a skiing trip (or an excuse to see Jackson)! Jackson was seriously loving all the family time. Leah stayed on our lovely pleather love seat (poor girl) and Kathy and Dad stayed in Midvale (closer to the slopes!).

We had an awesome week of skiing, hanging out in Park City, dinners in our closet of an apartment, and cheering on our wildcats!
Leah, Jackson and I went to the park on Monday because the weather was so beautiful!
On Tuesday we headed to Sundance to hang out and have a delicious root beer!

Sundance is a beautiful place to go for a relaxing afternoon reading and enjoying some delicious drinks! The grounds are gorgeous and perfect for a nice stroll too :)
Jack and Mom at the ski lodge!
Chuck and I went skiing with Leah, Dad and Kathy on Wednesday. Jackson was an ALL-STAR. After his breakfast, we got our ski gear together and headed towards Park City. Jack fell asleep in the car around 9:30am and stayed asleep until 1pm! We were able to drive to Park City, get our skis and go on a couple of runs before he was ready to eat again. I was amazed! He was only fussy twice during the day, which was great because both Chuck and I were able to ski quite a lot. Jackson had a grand old time hanging out in the little cafe that we camped out in. We were on the slopes until 6pm and then met Cole and David at Goodwood for a late night dinner. It was a fabulous day!
Who knew they had sunglasses for such tiny faces?
Cole, Leah, Jackson and I made a trip to Park City on Thursday morning to check out the outlets, get pedicures and eat a delicious lunch! Jackson got some cute new outfits from the carter's outlet and Leah got some awesome new clothes from the Banana Republic outlet - Cole and I were jealous! Leah took me to get a pedicure and lunch as a "thank you" for staying at our apartment, pretty generous for a tiny love seat and off-brand cereal. Oh, and we just had to stop by the bakery on our way home for delicious coconut macaroons! It was a pretty fabulous morning to say the least :)

Cole got Jack to fall asleep!

We both got blue for March Madness!

Jack's favorite kicks.

All geared up for the UK game on Thursday.

Hanging out with Aunt Leah.
Matching father and son :) Leah got them these as a funny joke!

Man do these guys love their basketball!

I wonder where Jack gets it...

Chillin' with gramps, watching the game.

Jackson has no shame filling that diaper - can you tell by Grandpa's face?
It was an awesome week with family - thanks for coming to visit!

Swimsuits in March.

This little stud and I headed to Arizona on March 5th for a week in the sun! My mom came out to Scottsdale, AZ for a Pediatric Conference so Jack and I decided to make the trip down too! AND, the Adams family, the Bays and Grandpa Hancock live in Phoenix. BONUS.

We got to lounge by the pool, go to the zoo with Tam, Emma and Grant, go swimming, have dinner with all the Krebs fam (twice!) and check out the arts district in Scottsdale! The weather in Arizona is seriously beautiful - 70-80 degrees the first week of March? I'll take it. Jackson enjoyed not having to be bundled up every time we went outside. In fact, he went swimming for the first time! He wasn't quite sure what was happening, but he sure did love looking at the water. I can't wait to see what he will think of the ocean!

This little guy slept in a crib for the first time since about 3 weeks of age. He did great!
It's been about ten years since I've been to the zoo. I forgot how awesome animals can be. It was so much fun!
Checking out the prairie dogs!

Love this family!

Jackson slept through the whole zoo!

Lounging on the king bed...watching the tube.

Loving Grandma Woods!

Playing duck-duck-goose at the Adam's house after dinner.
I'm bummed I didn't get more pictures of the Krebs family at dinner! We had so much fun hanging out with everyone. Thanks Adams for letting us crash your new house and cooking us a delicious dinner!
Lounging with Grandma at the pool.

Grant LOVES the pool!

So does Em!

Such a happy group :)

We had so much fun in Arizona!
