Our little trooper.

December 13, 2011: Such a stud.
Jackson is one tough guy for sure. At our two week visit to the doctor, not only did he have to get poked in the foot for testing, he had to get circumcised AND had to get his frenulum (the ligament that connects the tongue to the bottom of the mouth) cut. Let me just say one thing: apparently local anesthesia doesn't work quite like it's supposed to. I've never felt so awful as when our little guy is getting cut up and screaming and looking at me with a face that says, " What is happening to me??" I'm so glad that he won't remember that traumatic experience and that mom and dad made it happen.

We had noticed that his tongue had looked a little forked on the end, but hadn't worried too much about it. Both my mom and pediatrician said that he had a tight frenulum. Our pediatrician recommended that we go ahead and clip it now just to make sure he doesn't have troubles with speech in the future. So, he had to get cut up on both ends : ( He was one tired guy afterwards. All that stress would make me tired too.

But besides the crying at the doctor's office, he didn't even fuss that much when we would change his diaper and he didn't have a hard time nursing either. He is quite the little trooper.

On that note, I just want to say that while he might not look much like a Krebs, but he sure does take after his dad in temperament.

November 26, 2011: He sure does love his papa.
He hardly ever cries. When he gets hungry he just grunts around to wake mom up. Even when he doesn't get to eat right away he's patient and sucks on his hands until his slow momma can get it together. He has pretty bad reflux after he nurses, but is only fussy every once in a while. In fact, while Grandma Woods was holding him the other day after he nursed, milk shot out of his nose and mouth and he just coughed and relaxed again. I don't know how I got so blessed to have such a good baby, especially since the stories I hear about me as a baby aren't exactly pleasant (apparently I cried almost every second of the day for nine months...yikes). Let's just say I'm incredibly grateful for a patient and easy going husband AND baby.

November 26, 2011: It's amazing how much bigger he already is!
We took some more formal pictures on December 13 (thanks to Jackson's easy going personality and Grandma Woods' endless willingness to help out) and will give you a little sneak peak of a few of those :)

I love those little feet :)

so precious.

Ho, ho, ho!

Our little peanut :)
We got him a stocking, but by the time we took photos, he was too big to fit!! :)

  2. I love the pictures he is adorable! And yes I hate going to the doctor as they poke and prick your baby and he or she just looks at you and cries like "why?!" So heartbreaking. Makes you thinking a lot about how God feels about us. I am glad he is such a little trooper for ya'll. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!
