Two months.

This little guy is two months old today!

January 24, 2011: Just hanging out with mom

Our little snow bunny is all tuckered out after a walk :)

On Friday, January 20th, Jackson had his two month doctor visit! Here are the new stats:

11 lbs 3 oz (44th percentile)
22.4 in. (31st percentile)
15.5 in. head circumference (35th percentile)

He's up from the 6-7 percentile range for all his stats since he was born. We're pretty proud of how much he has grown :)

Some new things about little Jackson:

1. He loves bath time. He relaxes with his hands on his belly or up by his head with a furrowed brow the whole time.
2. Chuck has discovered that if you blow on his face he jumps, his eyes pop open and he breathes in really quickly.
3. he is a grunter by all accounts. 
4. He LOVES the swing that Tam and Greg gave him. He sleeps in it every night.
5. He loves to stand on mom or dad's lap.
6. Bouncing is his favorite. Whenever he gets a little fussy, I sing "trot, trot to Boston" and bounce him on my lap and he calms right down.
7. He is not a fan of poopy pants. As soon as he goes, he lets us know.
8. He can hold his head up on his own for the most part.
9. The pictures in books fascinate him.
10. He often looks up at the ceiling or wall whenever we are holding him.
11. Sometimes he will look at us with "sideways" eyes and it's hilarious. He's already got the stink eye down :)
12. He doesn't like to be left alone. If he wakes up or if he's been hanging out on his own for too long he lets me know he wants to be held and that solves the problem :)
13. We used the kitchen aid last night and he was fascinated by the sound.
14. Almost anytime we lay him on the floor in front of the space heater, he passes out within minutes.

Love him.

Where in the world... Law School

So... I finally, almost 3 months since receiving my LSAT scores, have gotten my law school applications in. I wasn't too terribly happy with my LSAT score considering I had been practicing about 6 points higher than I got, but I am still excited to be going to law school and waiting to see who accepts me and if they want to give me money or not!!!

6 hours.

6 hours is a long time.

It's how long Ibuprofen claims to last. It's driving distance from Lexington, KY to Anderson, SC. It's the amount of time it takes the crock pot potato soup to cook. It's one fourth of a day.

It's how long Jackson sleeps at night.

I can't tell you how blessed I feel that he's already started to sleep through the night. Especially since I'm one of those grumpy don't talk to me kind of sleep-deprived people.

Some other really awesome things that Jackson is doing:

1. Smiling at me :) Okay, he's only done it twice, but it was the happiest moment to date.
2. Starting to make some more interesting noises.
3. You can always tell when he's about to sneeze because his eyes get really big and the corners of his mouth turn down. It's definitely a "freak out" face :)
4. He can follow me with his eyes.
5. He LOVES to stretch his arms over his head and arch his back.
6. He has learned to swat at my hand when I'm trying to clean gunk out of his eyes or nose.
7. Sometimes he thinks he is going to sneeze but it doesn't come out and he yells instead :)
8. He has the cutest open-mouthed grin.
9. He has outgrown all of his newborn clothes.
10. His feet hardly ever fit into his sleepers. He must have inherited my dad's shoe size.
11. He LOVES to cuddle--and I love that :)
12. He loves to swing.
13. He falls asleep in the car almost instantly.
14. He loves to look around.
15. Whenever we go somewhere new he gets really quiet, even if he was crying before, and just looks.
16. He doesn't pee on mom as much...that or I've gotten quicker :)

I have learned the value of time. Every day Jackson looks a little different, grows a little taller, learns new things. Looking back at his pictures from the first few weeks, it astounds me how much he has grown. I can't believe he has only been with us for 8 weeks. I can't imagine life without him now. Each moment is so precious. I feel so blessed that Heavenly Father brought Jackson into our lives. He makes every day a thousand times better than they ever were before...and that's saying a lot.

Hello, 2012.

Chuck and I made it back to KY to ring in the New Year in traditional Krebs fashion: Krebs Family Olympics. Although the whole Krebs gang wasn't in town, we still got to party with Mom and Dad Krebs, Matt and Corinda, Amber and Sean Marcum, Katie and Tom Harper and the Lindmark family. While grazing on chips and dips, we played Apples to Apples, MadGab, Charades, XBOX and Scrabble. Chuck and I were teamed up with the Lindmarks and we came in at a close second to the Marcums and Mom and Dad Krebs. We finished up just in time to watch the ball drop and bang pots and pans in the street at midnight :) I wish I had some photos from that night--it was a blast.

2011 was a noteworthy year for us. I've put together my top ten blessings that I've experienced in the last twelve months, in no particular order :)

1. MODERN MEDICINE

Pediatricians. OBGYNs. My epidural. Thank goodness I was born in the 20th century. 

2. EDUCATION

BYU. UK. Learning is such a blessing.

3. THE WOODS FAMILY 

I love my family.

4. FIJI

The friends we made. Maya. The food. The beautiful beaches. 

5. JACKSON

My favorite and most adorable blessing of this year.

6. THE TEMPLE of THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS

 Because of this place, our new little family can be together forever.

7. THE KREBS FAMILY

 We all have to admit, I got some pretty awesome in-laws. 

8. MY HUSBAND

 Love my two boys so much.

9. MY SAVIOR

He has given me everything I have.

10. WARM THINGS

Hot showers. The Sun. Blankets. Space Heaters. Wool Socks. Love em' all.

Before we headed back to Utah after our great 10 day break to Kentucky and South Carolina (Em will catch you up tomorrow - but I wanted to get some pictures to my brother on his mission in London) we had a late present... a new niece :) Only the third grand daughter - Emily Janette Krebs, who was born at 6 lbs. 14 oz. at about 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3rd. Jackson wasn't the oldest grand baby for very long was he??? They are 5 weeks and 5 days apart... and she is cute as a button. Enjoy the pictures :)
