Easter!

We had an absolutely fabulous Easter holiday. We got to spend the weekend with family and friends and stole a few moments to truly reflect on the resurrection of Christ.

Mom was able to come into town so we had a little gathering on Friday evening for Easter dinner. It was SO wonderful to spend time with the Mary and Bill, Meacy and Charles, and Mom and Leah! It was my first attempt at cooking (i.e. warming) a ham and it actually turned out all right! Plus, we had tons of help with salads and corn pudding from the guests. It was a blast.

On Saturday, we went to an Easter Egg Hunt at the church (but unfortunately I didn't get a single photo). Jackson had a BLAST, especially once he figured out there was candy inside the eggs. Although, I'm pretty sure his favorite part was playing at the creek at the end of the easter egg hunt.

Later that day we decorated eggs! We had initially planned on dying them, but I was a little too scared, so we just colored them with markers and put stickers on instead. Thanks to Aunt Tammy and the whole Adams crew, we had some fun Easter activities to do (like stickers, bunny masks and a little Easter book to read)!

Just as a side note: We now have this piece of paper with all the stickers on it hanging on our fridge. Every time Jack sees it he giggles and points and claps his hands. He was and is pretty proud of himself for that project :)

Jackson had a blast discovering his easter baskets. Why on earth we even put more than 10 pieces of candy in them is beyond me. Church on a sugar high is quite an interesting experience. Next time we will open Easter baskets on Saturday :)

 Easter Sunday was also Matt's birthday! So we got to have an Easter/Matt's birthday celebration that afternoon at Grandma and Grandpa Krebs' home. It was so much fun to play and visit!

We attempted to get a few Easter photos (Thanks, Corinda!). Jackson was pretty distraught that we were making him stand there with us when all the other kiddos were playing on the trampoline.

All in all, we had a fabulous weekend. I'm so grateful for my knowledge of the Savior. I know that He lived a perfect life, atoned for our sins, was crucified and was resurrected. I know that He did all of that so that we could live with Him and our Father in Heaven again. This gospel truly is good news and makes life so much happier :)

Elder Krebs comes home!

On August 9th, 2012 Elder John Krebs stepped off the plane from London, England and back into Lexington! It was a happy reunion. While it was questionable at the first, I think John's happy to be back ; )

It's got to be a crazy feeling to come home to a family, a life you haven't seen in two years. Some have described it as feeling that you had paused that life and coming back two years later and realizing that it had continued to play you just weren't around to see it. Add that to the adjustment of not teaching the gospel every minute of the day and it must be a weird feeling.

But, needless to say, we are super happy John is back. I know it's cliche, but he's all growed up :) Welcome home, John!

New York Adventures.

On July 15th, Chuck, Jack, lil' Glen and I all headed up to Palmyra, New York. Chuck's family has participated in the Hill Cumorah Pageant for as long as I've known them. For the past 6 years, Mom and Dad Krebs have been the "Work Crew" Leaders (the group of boys that set up and take down the stage as well as run the lights and special effects during the show). The Hill Cumorah Pageant is a spectacular show that tells the story of the Book of Mormon, the history of the people living in the Americas and how Christ visited them. The Pageant holds a special place in our hearts. So, we made the 10 hour trek to Palmyra, NY where the church was started to experience the Pageant as audience members (a first for some of the Krebs family!) and to explore different church sites.

We decided to drive through the night because then we wouldn't have to stop to feed the little guy AND we would get more time in New York. It actually went pretty well. Jack did wake up at 3am to eat and took a little while to go back to sleep (poor Chuck hadn't slept yet and was trying to calm the poor tyke down for what seemed like eternity). But by 4:15am, the whole car was sleeping again while I took my shift at the wheel. Needless to say, Sunday we were all a little groggy.

Awesome things we got to do:
1. Hang out with Pageant friends in Zion's camp
2. Go tubing on Seneca Lake
3. Play in Seneca Lake and go boating
4. Slip n' Slide!
5. Go to the Palmyra temple (Thanks Mom for watching Jack so we could go!)
6. Visit the Sacred Grove where Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ
7. Eat Chill n' grill ice cream
8. Have awesome devotionals
9. See the Pageant
10. Walk around the Hill Cumorah
11. Go to the Wind Tunnel (where Work Crew camps out for the month of July)
12. Hike at Watkins Glen
13. Eat awesome food all the time!
14. Play with awesome friends!
